Fresh Water Press announces three local books publishing in 2025
Authors include Emilie Lindemann, Raquel Durden and Lisa Lehmann
Two Rivers, Wis. – Fresh Water Press, an independent book publisher based in Two Rivers, announces its authors and books publishing in 2025. They are Emilie Lindemann, author of Ghost(ed) Woman & the Electric Purple Pants; Raquel Durden, author of Dial Down: Holistic Strategies to Move from Chaos to Calm; and Lisa Lehmann, author of Radio Starr: A Novel.
Lindemann holds a PhD in English-Creative Writing from UW-Milwaukee and teaches writing and communication courses at Lakeshore College. She also serves as a poetry editor for Sheboygan-based Stoneboat Literary Journal. Her poetry collection, Ghost(ed) Woman & the Electric Purple Pants, describes the distortion of time she experienced during the pandemic, and about finding refuge in nature, dreaming and creativity. It is slated for publication in June 2025.
Durden was raised in Manitowoc and is a UW-Stevens Point alumna. She is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and combat veteran, and the founder of Humble Warrior Wellness & Yoga, a nonprofit that supports women veterans and first responders. Dial Down is a wellness guide for people in high-stress professions, based on Durden’s experience as a veteran and cancer survivor. It is slated for release in September 2025.
Lehmann is a former radio announcer and TV marketing professional. She currently runs Lehmann Photo Art & Design, specializing in photography and marketing for women-owned businesses. Lisa recently completed a certificate in literary writing from UW-Madison. Radio Starr is a novel about a small-town Wisconsin DJ in the 1980s who seeks escape and reinvention through radio. It is slated for release in November 2025.
“During a time when large book publishers continue to get larger, small independent publishers are important for finding and elevating local voices and stories,” said Tara Huck, co-founder and editor at Fresh Water Press. “We’re excited to bring these local authors’ books to shelves!”
Fresh Water Press’ mission is to publish voices from the northeast Wisconsin lakeshore. Its debut book, Opening Nights, is an anthology featuring work from seven Manitowoc-area authors. Readers will recognize the local settings and organizations and fall in love with the authentic portrayal of characters. The stories all take place on the opening night of a community theater production. The collection is a true epitome of what the Press stands for.
If you’re a writer with a tie to the Lakeshore area, Fresh Water Press is open to submissions to be considered for publication twice a year. The next submission period is July 1–August 15, 2025.
The upcoming books are available for presales at freshwaterpressllc.com.
